Ivan Kolar, a passionate piano educator, brings over 15 years of experience in nurturing musical talent and inspiring students to achieve their full potential. Ivan’s musical journey began in Croatia, where he earned his Master's degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. Guided by the renowned Professor Marina Ambokadze, an expert in the LISZT-ZILOTI technique and artistic adviser to pianist Ivo Pogorelić. Ivan developed a unique teaching philosophy rooted in artistry, technique, and passion for music. In 2008, Ivan began his career as a Piano Professor at the Varaždin School of Music, where his students flourished and earned numerous gold awards in national and international piano competitions. His students performed as soloists, with orchestras, and captivated audiences on stages across Europe. After relocating to Vancouver, Ivan continued his teaching journey as a faculty member at the prestigious Dio Piano School. Within just one year of teaching in Canada, his students achieved remarkable success, earning eight gold medals at the BCCM and Sea to Sky International Music Festivals. Two of his students received the highest marks and were honoured as overall winners in their categories, while another student won gold at Carnegie Hall in New York and was selected for a student exchange program in China. Following these accomplishments, Ivan established his own piano studio, where his students continue to achieve outstanding results.
